The Instrumental department at Olmsted Falls Middle School has a strong tradition of excellence in music. The middle school band program is made up of 411 students and consists of two 6th grade bands, two 7th grade bands, and two 8th grade bands. Students also have the opportunity to audition for the Olmsted Falls Middle School Jazz Band, which rehearses before school on Wednesdays. Percussion Ensemble meets on Wednesday afternoons and is open to all 7th and 8th grade percussionists.
Each year, Olmsted Falls has a large representation of students who participate in adjudicated events, such as OMEA Solo and Ensemble, as well as Large Group Contest. Historically, Olmsted Falls students have performed very well at these events and continue to represent Olmsted Falls through a high level of musical achievement. Selected students will have the opportunity to participate in the District IV Honors Band, where Olmsted Falls band Students will join with other District IV Middle School band students to perform a concert with only two rehearsals! Many of our Middle School band students can be found participating in Northeast Ohio musical organizations, such as the Baldwin Wallace University Youth Wind Ensemble, Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, and private lessons programs. |
We invite you to continue to explore the Middle School Band subpages to find out more of what your students are doing at Olmsted Falls Middle School.
